Moving Images – Photographs of Forced Migration

Photographs play a central role in the memory of forced migration – they shape our idea of the experience and causes of displacement. In our permanent exhibition, we also show a large number of photos taken at different times and in different places.

But who actually takes photos of displacement? In what situations are these pictures taken and on whose behalf? What happens to them afterwards? And do these photos always reflect reality? You will find out all this and much more in our compelling photo tour.
